President Donald J. Trump’s choice for acting director at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau arrived at the bureau Monday and assumed control amid a pending lawsuit.
Trump last week tapped Mick Mulvaney to be acting CFPB director. Mulvaney already serves in the administration as director of the White House Office of Management and Budget.
But as Richard Cordray was on his way out as CFPB director on Friday, he promoted Leandra English to deputy director. Now English is challenging Trump’s choice.
