A potential change of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s name and logo, especially in light of its revised mission statement, has some consumer advocates concerned.
In December, Acting CFPB Director Mick Mulvaney changed the bureau’s mission statement to make the top priority "identifying and addressing outdated, unnecessary, or unduly burdensome regulations."
In addition, Mulvaney publicly declared that the financial products regulator would no longer "aggressively push the envelope" to protect consumers.
